Qualcomm details the Adreno 530 GPU and Spectra camera ISP inside the Snapdragon 820. Qualcomm Technologies introduced its next-generation visual processing technologies with the latest versions of the Qualcomm Adreno GPU and Qualcomm Spectra camera ISP (image signal processor) to bring significant performance, power efficiency, and user experience advances to upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Think of these as improvements to what your phone captures in the world around you, and also to what you are able to see and experience on your phone. The Snapdragon 820 with the Adreno 530 and Qualcomm Spectra is expected to be in devices in the first half of 2016. First up is the new Adreno 5xx series architecture. These GPUs will debut with the premium Adreno 530 integrated in the upcoming Snapdragon 820 processor, and the high-end Adreno 510 in the Snapdragon 620 and 618.

As its highest performance GPU, the Adreno 530 in the Snapdragon 820 is designed to deliver up to 40% improvement to graphics performance and compute capabilities as compared to the previous-generation Adreno 430. You can enjoy action-packed, graphics-rich mobile gaming for even longer, because the Adreno 530 is also engineered to reduce power consumption by up to 40% compared with the previous generation.

Second is the brand new Qualcomm Spectra camera ISP. This dual-ISP, its most advanced to date, is designed to provide superior camera image quality and experiences. Qualcomm Spectra supports the latest 14-bit sensors for a wider range of colors and more natural skin tones. You can also expect better photos through the hybrid autofocus framework and multi-sensor fusion algorithms that support next generation computational photography.
